Montera Elementary Campus Safety

Campus Safety at Our School

The safety of our students, staff, and school community is our highest priority. Our campus is designed with multiple layers of security to ensure a safe and secure learning environment throughout the school day.

Our school is a fully fenced campus with a locked-campus policy during instructional hours. All visitors must enter through the front office, where a buzzer entry system is in place to control access and verify visitors before entry is granted. In addition, security cameras are positioned outside buildings across the campus to support monitoring and enhance overall campus safety.

To further support our safety efforts, we maintain a visible security presence through routine CSO (Community Service Officer) drive-by visits, as well as private security patrols that regularly drive around the campus perimeter. These proactive measures help ensure ongoing monitoring, quick response when needed, and added reassurance for our school community.

Our school also has a School Safety Plan, which is developed and reviewed in partnership with the broader school community, including staff, parents/guardians, and community representatives. Families who wish to be part of the discussion and design of our safety planning are encouraged to attend School Site Council (SSC) meetings. A copy of the School Safety Plan is available for review in the front office.

Should you ever have questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding campus safety, we encourage you to contact school administration directly. Working together, we remain committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all.
